Three details should be paid attention to in vacuum drying oven maintenance

The vacuum drying oven is a common instrument we used in our experiments. We often encounter problems such as the stopper being stuck and the dirt on the drying box is difficult to remove, and emulsification occurs when the liquid is dispensed. So how to solve these problems? As an editor of Lanphan, I will provide several tips for solving such problems for your reference. In this article, I will introduce you to the three details should be paid attention to in vacuum drying oven maintenance.

1. Attachment of crystal on instrument beaker wall

When the solution is refluxed or concentrated, it is often the case that crystals are precipitated on the inner wall of the flask above the liquid surface and adhered firmly. Failure to participate in the reaction sometimes leads to a gradual decomposition of discoloration. If this happens, you can gently shake the flask to soak the internal solution and let it dissolve. If the flow restriction of the apparatus is not possible to shake the flask, a precipitate can be dissolved by applying a cool wet cloth to the upper portion of the flask so that the solvent condenses down the wall. The vacuum oven also needs to quickly dry the instrument and remove special dirt from the instrument on a regular or timely basis.

When a special stain is adhered to the glass instrument, the special properties of the dirt must be distinguished first, and then the decontamination treatment is carried out in a targeted manner. It is urgent to use a dry instrument, and when it is too late to dry by conventional methods, it may be considered to rinse with a small amount of absolute ethanol.

2. Cannot be opened because the glass instrument interface is stuck

When the screw cap is not open, use a hair dryer or flame to bake around the cap to expand it, then wrap the cap with a cloth and then force it to rotate. Use a piece of wood to strike the side of the grinding section to gradually loosen it due to the earthquake. For cemented reagent bottles, the plug and the mouth of the instrument can be caught at the corners of the bench or wooden table. The wood is then slammed in a direction at an angle of about 70° to the axis of the instrument. At the same time, the instrument is rotated intermittently, and the operation is repeated several times to open the grinding.

3. Thermometer is glued to the plug

The vacuum drying oven can be inserted between the thermometer or glass tube and the rubber plug or hose with a small screwdriver or a tip of the knife to make it free. Drip a few drops of water, manipulate and extend along the thermometer or glass tube. At the same time, it will gradually deepen and will soon be released. You can also use a drill that just fits into the thermometer or glass tube to apply a little glycerin. Push it from one end of the thermometer and gently push it while pushing it. When it is difficult to roll, pull out the lubricant and continue to rotate. After repeating it a few times, you can pry the thermometer or glass tube out.
